week 4 tutorial
In the week 4 tutorial the class was divided up into groups each
with a given activity sheet relating to a strand in the syllabus. The
tutorial showed us how to make lessons student centered by
having pencils, paper, glue and other material to get children
actively involved. Each group had a different task including making a memory tree, inventing their own game,
creating an imaginary person, a bullying role play and my group had body image. We made a mnemonic of the
word body image, using words associated to with it. We also looked through a magazine and cut out some
images of what we thought was healthy. We then presented this to the class and we then discussed how such
activities could be linked to different KLA’s. This was interesting for me as I learnt about why each activity may
be appropriate for certain age groups and the learning outcomes associated.
